Some of our unique recipes are brought by celebrities since 50s. These gourmét sets are accessible to everyone, of course only from us.
Our experienced kitchen staff has suggestions ready for various occasions. We also make the menu completely in accordance with the wishes of our customers.
The secret of the evening treat
Finland’s most popular rock band had thrown a great show on the main stage of Provinssi-Rock in Seinäjoki. On the way to Helsinki, the driver of the tour bus suggested: I know a good hotel, go there for the night and have a sauna on the beach! And not long before the callers sat on the terrace of Hotel Keurusselkä beach sauna.
It was a warm summer evening and the rockers were at their peak. It is said that a lot of different sparkling drinks have been consumed, because the next gig was not the day after tomorrow. The morning began to dawn, when even an experienced partygoer wants a snack. The guitarist of the band calls the reception: – Bring something to eat to the sauna, but nothing too green!
The chef was already on his way home, but he took care of it. Food tasted good and praise came. It is then the case that Vaissi’s cabbage rolls from the grill are not “too green” for musicians.
The famous Keurusselkä pike meat loaf
President Urho Kekkonen was coming to visit Keuruu. R.Erik Serlachius knew that his friend enjoyed fishing, so after negotiations they went ice fishing. President Kekkonen and R.Erik and two adjutants went to Keurusselkä to catch the pike and two handsome pike were caught by the president. The others got nothing.
The resort’s gala dinner served about 30 people. The main dish was a tasty pike meatloaf, which the guests praised. “After all, those two pikes were quite big when the whole group got food!”, President said in his exaggerated thank you speech. According to the story, a few local fishermen had been given a quick order during the day to catch pike for the company’s people as “reserves”…
The Serlachius appreciated the good, clean and simple food ingredients they got locally from the surroundings of Mänttä. Lake Keurusselkä offers one of the best pike waters in Finland.
